    In the early years of the 21st century, out and proud Chinese American Dennis Chin dies in a freak skydiving accident and is shocked to find himself sent to Chinese Hell, where he is convicted of being a shameful son and sentenced to an eternity of grisly torment.

    Determined to cheat Fate, he strikes a bargain with Kuan Yin the Goddess of Mercy to return to life and reform his ways by honoring his parents with a Chinese wife and grandson; but before long, his family, friends and all of Hell are thrown into chaos in a chain of events that threatens the very foundations of the Chinese Afterlife.
